CoreFitness and FESPP Host Fairmount’s Favorite 5k!

The “Great Eastern State Breakout 5K” is a one-of-a-kind, USATF-sanctioned flat, 3.1 mile run through Fairmount, inside the grounds at Girard College and right past the Eastern State Penitentiary!

The race is a major fundraiser for the community organization, Friends of Eastern State Penitentiary Park. This volunteer-run organization maintains the park area that surrounds the National Historic Landmark, Eastern State Penitentiary. The race winds through Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood, bringing together neighbors and friends for a fun day out.

The official Breakout Race after party will be hosted by Urban Saloon with food and drink specials offered by this generous sponsor!
